OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT a year ago, said November 17 it had dismissed CEO Sam Altman as it no longer had confidence in his ability to lead the Microsoft-backed firm.
Altman's shock departure "follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities," a statement said. (Photo by Patrick T. Fallon / AFP)
